Google Project Tango: Wow!

The way we understand it, for the past year, Google have had a team developing a phone that can 3D-Map its environment.

The applications for this, as explained in this video, include allowing the phone to give auditory cues to the visually impaired, virtual portals into imaginary gaming worlds and being able to virtually drop pieces of furniture into your living room to see how they would look before you buy them.

Neat, huh? That’s what we thought!

The phones have now been supplied to software developers to further expand the possibilities of what the phone can do. Find out more about the project here…
